Indian Trade Marks Office Invites Attorneys to File Office Action Responses Electronically

Via Public Notice dated 11/03/2011, Indian Trade Marks Office informs general public:

The processing of trade mark applications is done electronically and the Examination Report made available to the public on the IPO website. Accepted cases are automatically published in the weekly Trade Marks Journal. Applicant’s responses to the examination report are also considered electronically by an authorized officer. While the office is taking steps to digitize all such received responses and upload the same to the computer server, there is a huge pendency for digitization and uploading.

In order to facilitate speedy consideration of the responses, applicants/attorneys may file their responses electronically(a scanned copy to be mailed to parm.tmr@nic.in). Where ever physical copies of the responses have already been sent to the office, they may also be scanned and sent to the above e-mail address which will facilitate early consideration.
